The Key Person System

When your child starts they will be assigned a member of the team as their Key Person. A Key Person has special responsibilities for working with a group of children, giving them the reassurance to feel safe and cared for. A Key Person helps the baby or child become familiar with the setting and feel safe and confident within it. They will also ensure that records of development, Learning Journals and daily care needs are met appropriately – along with sharing progress with parents.

As we are a small homely setting, we pride ourselves in knowing each and every child on a personal level and we hope that parents feel they can talk and share information about their child with all staff members at Lynton. Equally, all staff take an interest in all children's learning and needs – whether being their key person or not.
