Understanding funded childcare can sometimes feel confusing, so we have put together some helpful information about the funded childcare available at Lynton Childcare.

What Funded Childcare Is Available?
Depending on your child's age and your family's circumstances, you may be eligible for funded childcare hours.
15 hours for eligible 2-year-olds
Eligible 2-year-olds may be entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year, depending on their circumstances.
15 hours for 3 and 4-year-olds
Eligible 3 and 4-year-olds may be entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year.
Up to 30 hours for eligible working parents
Eligible working parents may be entitled to up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year. This entitlement can apply from the term after your child reaches 9 months, subject to the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility for funded childcare depends on your child's age and your family's circumstances.

How Do I Apply?
Applications for funded childcare are made through the government's childcare service.
If you are eligible, you will receive an 11-digit eligibility code. Please provide this code to Lynton Childcare so that we can validate your funding.
Eligible working parents need to reconfirm their eligibility every three months to continue receiving their funded childcare entitlement.

How Does Funding Work at Lynton?
At Lynton Childcare, funded childcare can be provided in two different ways:
Term Time Only – 38 Weeks
Your funded entitlement is used across 38 weeks of the year, following a term-time pattern.
Stretched Offer – 48 Weeks
Your funded entitlement can be stretched across 48 weeks of the year. This means the total annual funded hours are spread across more weeks.
Both options provide up to 1,140 funded hours per year, where the full 30-hour entitlement applies.
The funding pattern for your child will be agreed in advance and is subject to availability and capacity at Lynton Childcare.
Funded Sessions at Lynton
We offer a range of funded session options, subject to availability.
Funded Half Day
Morning: 8:30am – 1:00pm
Afternoon: 1:00pm – 5:30pm
An Additional Extras charge of £10.00 applies to funded half-day sessions.
Funded Short Day
A short day is approximately 7.5 hours, usually 8:30am – 4:00pm.
An Additional Extras charge of £17.00 applies to funded short-day sessions.
Funded Full Day
A full day is approximately 9.5 hours, usually 8:00am – 5:30pm.
An Additional Extras charge of £17.00 applies to funded full-day sessions.
Funded-only places may be available in limited circumstances and are subject to availability. Funded-only sessions may have different session patterns and may not include all of the meals, resources, experiences or services available as part of the Additional Extras.
What Are Additional Extras?
Government-funded childcare covers the funded childcare hours themselves. It does not cover certain meals, snacks, consumables, enhanced activities, resources or additional services.
At Lynton Childcare, these are known as Additional Extras.
Our Additional Extras may include:
Nutritious meals, snacks and drinks – Freshly prepared meals and snacks provided throughout the day.
Everyday essentials – Including wipes, sun cream and PPE.
Educational resources and activities – Additional resources and enrichment opportunities to support children's learning and development.
Tapestry – Access to our family communication platform, including activity updates, learning information and personal care diaries.
Outdoor resources and puddle suits – Helping children enjoy outdoor learning and exploration in all weather.
Oral Health Programme – Activities and resources including toothbrushes, toothpaste and supporting props.
Rhythms of Our Year – Themed days, cultural events and special nursery celebrations.
Parent coffee mornings and special events – Opportunities for families to connect with our team and other parents and carers.
Adventure Play Park – Access to our gated outdoor adventure area.
Lynton Pets Family – Supervised opportunities to visit our rabbit enclosure and help care for our nursery pets.
Families can choose whether to take the Additional Extras. Choosing not to take Additional Extras does not prevent an eligible child from accessing their funded entitlement, although certain meals, resources, experiences and services will not be included.
Meals & Food at Lynton
We provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals and snacks for children at Lynton Childcare.
We do not operate a packed lunch system. Meals and snacks are provided as part of our childcare provision, with individual dietary requirements, allergies and preferences taken into consideration.
Food is prepared and provided with appropriate food safety, hygiene and choking considerations, and children are encouraged to enjoy mealtimes together.
